Did visit Yosemite National Park from 2019-05-16 till 2019-05-20. Didn’t get the best weather, but I was lucky in some point.
On the first day I visit the Yosemite Falls, the Lower Fall was beautiful. After the short trail I was walking to the Mirror Lake. On the way had a lucky encounter with the Happy Isles. The Happy Isles Bridge was on the list, but didn’t think, that the way along the shore was also pretty. The Mirror Lake was a little disappointing. Through the pictures I saw, I thought, it was huge, but it was a small lake. Otherwise, it shows exactly the huge mountains, which is somehow impressive.
On the second day it was rainy. But I visit the Tunnel View. It was breathtaking. The drive should continue to Glacier Point with some stops on the way, but unfortunately it has snowed there and the street was closed. Changed plans and visit the Yosemite Valley Chapel, walked to the Swinging Bridge and the other way back to the Chapel.
On the third day I wanted absolutely visit the Ansel Adams Gallery. On the way I visit the Yosemite Wilderness Center, but there were so few things to see in one room, I was disappinted. The Ansel Adams Gallery was very nice, but I found it strange that other painters were exhibited and you had to pay attention to the signatures, otherwise you might think that all pictures are of Ansel Adams. There was no apparent delimitation of the pictures for me. At the same time there were different souvenirs and also some postcards. I have brought two postcards with the pictures taken by Adams. Afterwards I visited Yosemite Valley Visitor Center. It was surprisingly good. There were a lot of explanations and pictures. The last point for me was “Our Lady of the Snows”, but I’m not sure if I saw her and have taken a picture. Google Maps was confusing on showing the way. I also had to cancel the search because it has started to snow. But luckily it stopped quickly and after that I was able to take some beautiful pictures with fog. I also got the oppertunity to see Tunnel View again.
I’m very happy, that I could see a lot in Yosemite. I know that there is much more and in every season there are different perspective.
It was wonderful.
